Lost 10 Pounds

I lost 10 pound over the last few weeks, not so much by exercise, but instead by watching what I eat, and most importantly how much I eat on a daily basis. My personal target calories for a day is 2200.

To begin with, I cut out soda. That didn't have a huge impact, but it was the best thing I could cut out initially.

Then I cut out candy.. especially candy bars.

Then I cut out pastries, including muffins.

I tried to cut out cheese but that didn't work ;-) Maybe I'll take another shot at that next. Either that or try to limit my carbs more.

        you are on the right course! as much as we want to deny it, food is the key, at least at the beginning of the process.
        And there are soooo many tasty things out there with hidden addictive components. Did you know that wheat gluten has a chemical in it that is similar to morphine? no wonder i crave a stop at the donut shop down the road....every frikking day! It's like my own little meth lab....

        And you ever try to take away a long time diet cola drinkers 1/2 filled soda can? they get downright nasty. diet sodas are the worst for silently addicting folks, then keeping them fat with all thier system altering chemicals. They should call them "keep you fat diet drinks", evil marketers of filth.
        so congrats on the progress, nym! You really have to seek out the healthy choices in our culture, they make it hard to eat anything but crap. (conspiracy for dull fat americans? hmmm)

    Congratulations!!!! I've lost almost 10 this year, too... Weight Watchers... not to endorse anything, but it's actually pretty easy ... and I can still have pastries... in moderation, of course.

      woot! that's awesome! I just rejoined weight watchers, which is the only thing that ever worked for me. But it's amazing how little changes (like cutting out soda) can make such a difference. Nice work :)
