OK - countdown - what's your plan?

I'm still on a high from swimming today at the local outdoor pool ... the sun, kids laughing, us splashing, the tan lines (!)
... and last week a friend and I went and got ridiculous, jumping off the high dive over and over...

I think the secret to getting & staying in shape in picking things that are fun and that you'll stick with every week, or even daily.

The other things I'm integrating are my dance classes (bellydance and Indian temple dance), morning walks to the beach, and the dance tapes I use at home...

I have no idea how much I weigh (I think scales make women crazy!) I think overal health, tone, and flexibility matter more...

i'm hovering at my target weight /shape-- my goal is to be toned by the time i hit Playa. At 45 yrs old you lose the fitness gains after just one week. I've finally gotten over being mad about that. So obviously, consistancy is key for me.
Also I've noticed, and read about the effects of cortisol-- stress fat. I get a pooch anytime I get stressed for a week or so about deadlines, no matter how little I'm eating. I eat like a bird anyway, so its easy to see it aint junk food fat.

I hoop daily, and will be bikng the beach path with Shiho and Andrea.

Let's go on that bike ride!

I am trying to go to the gym every other day. Stress is very bad! Sex is very good! Food intake is 6 small meals a day...every 3 hours or so. Lost 10% body fat and gained muscle. Need to lose a bit more and tone. Core exercises good! Cut down on alcohol consumption too.

Can't wait to see y'all in the dust! It is going to be a very dusty year....low rainfall. Come prepared!

        Yay Shiho!

Man, I lived in Venice for seven years, why is this bike thing happening now that I'm on the far side of the moon? Oh the other hand, the bike trails at the beach are usually overrun with pedestrians. Maybe that's why I never rode down there.

Bikes are excellent for keeping in shape, easy on the joints, work big muscles, work muscles in combinations, low impact, high reps. I'm getting the dust off my Bianchi (it's been stored for some time), getting my mp3s in order and spending some time in the saddle. I just remembered that I used to have callouses on my palms from the handlebars.

Ugh. I have to drive to Lancaster now.

i think i have to keep my bike on my car rack form now till BM so I can just pop down to the beach when time allows between deadlines.
I can see doing a "victory Lap" of sorts after mailing out finished orders at fed ex..... dusk/night rides rock, especially with hoky spokes shining the way!

I have to keep swimming. It really keeps me toned.

I have to up my running. It's great for the weight loss.

I have to eat better. I've been eating like a pig.

And I have to continue lifting weights. It makes me look better even if I don't get as much weight loss.

Oh yeah, somehow, I still want to fit in some yoga. Although, I'm not sure where.
